WELCOME to the ECHS CLASS OF 1970 site!

We hope you enjoy your visit.

Look for us on Facebook: 1970 East Catholic High School Friends.

Dear Friends;

First, we miss being together and seeing everyone. Second, we have had to step up to the decision to postpone our 50th Reunion to some future, safer time. Connecticut is definitely in the cross hairs of Covid-19. Our return to some kind of normal will be slow and in stages. Those stages are said to include a continuation of social distancing into the foreseeable coming months for people 60 years old and older.

We wish we could have found a different solution, but this is the only way we can stay safe and keep down our exposures. We still have a remarkable number of classmates who have parents in their nineties, both a gift and a responsibility, and we all want to keep them safe from exposure to this virus. This is the one correct and kind path we can find.

We will keep a keen eye on when it looks possible to have our reunion. Hotel reservations that were made under the special rate we were given at the Hampton Inn can be canceled without any loss of funds.

As ever, please keep us up to date on email changes or address changes you may have. If you know of other classmates who are willing to be contacted by email, please let us know. It helps us keep our costs down.

You’ll be in our hearts and best thoughts in the meantime. Please stay in touch and most of all -- most of all — please stay well and healthy.

Love and hugs all round,

Jim Quaglia, Bob Funke, Kat Gayson, Tim Becker, Karen Abraitis, Bob Ferrante, Noreen Palladino Cullen, Nancy Zuhauskas Babcock, Eileen O’Keefe, Penny Halfpenny Stanziale, Joyce Murphy

Photos from our 2019 Pizza Party are up!

Many thanks to Kat Gayson for taking them.

We have a section called "Hartford Courant Archives" that chronicles the history of ECHS from being built to accepting students. Just place your cursor over the word "MORE" up above and the menu will drop down. Click on "Hartford Courant Archives."

A new feature is a tab for Manchester Herald articles. The September 1969 lists each faculty member and other aspects of our senior year.

Even more exciting is that the Manchester Evening Herald archive is now online for free public use! Articles about Manchester, East Hartford, Bolton, South Windsor, and Glastonbury appear in the newspaper. There are many, many articles about East Catholic, beginning in 1959 when the school was in the planning stages right through until 1991, when the paper was no longer being published.

Go to www.manchesterhistory.org and click on the "Manchester Newspapers" box. A search line will come up for you to use. The entire archive is from 1882-1991, so it is a great resource for genealogy, family, sports buffs, and town events. So much that was not in
The Hartford Courant is covered in the Manchester Herald. It's a unique and valuable resource. Feel welcome to use it!
